The eco-friendly aquaculture development project selected this time is
• FICL, a smart shrimp farm on land in Yeongju City (Korea Fisheries Research & Development Institute, KRW 900 million )
• There are three projects, including a circulating filtration land-based aquaculture facility in Yecheon-gun (Freshwater Company, 3 billion won) and a smart prevention aquaculture facility (Seonggyeong Fisheries, 1.1 billion won) .
In addition, the fishery product distribution center serves as a base that purchases and consigns fishery products from the production area, integrates them, and supplies them to consumers through preprocessing and processing.
Obada Food Factory Co., Ltd. , selected as the business target, is a company specializing in squid catching and processing, and received high praise for presenting a plan to secure raw squid and an FPC operation plan through joint marketing.
The fishery product distribution center will be built in the Yeongdeok Rohas Agricultural and Industrial Complex, with a total project cost of 3 billion won. The main facilities include processing and packaging facilities, freezing and refrigeration storage facilities, etc., and the food safety management certification standard (HACCP) will be introduced to all facilities.
In addition, Gyeongbuk Province is building a smart processing platform for fisheries products.
• Smart Fisheries Processing Complex Development Project (Yeongdeok, completion in 2027, KRW 38 billion)
• Smart Form Cluster Development Project (Pohang, completion in 2025, KRW 40 billion)
• Fisheries ICT Convergence Support Project (Pohang/Sangju, KRW 2 billion)
• We are focusing on promoting projects such as the supply of eco-friendly energy to fish farms (Pohang, Sangju, Yeongdeok, KRW 6.3 billion) .
Gyeongbuk Province plans to do its best to create new food sources by making a major shift from ‘fishing by catching’ to ‘fishing by farming.’
