Gyeongbuk Startup Recognized by CES… Leading Energy and Mobility Innovation

Companies that won the Gyeongbuk Creative Economy Innovation Center Next G Star Round. / Provided by Gyeongbuk Creative Economy Innovation Center Companies that came out of the Gyeongbuk Creative Economy Innovation Center’s startup investment attraction and growth platform, ‘Next G Star Round,’ are growing rapidly in areas such as mobility, energy, and blockchain.


The center held the Next G Star Round with the Gyeongbuk Gyeongsan Branch of the Industrial Bank of Korea last month and selected nine companies.


POSCO (CEO Kim Hyung-jin), which won the Excellence Award in the mobility field, participated in the D.Camp (Banking Youth Entrepreneurship Foundation) All-Star Game and received the Financial Services Commission Chairman’s Award. The company is developing magnetic powder materials used in eco-friendly automobiles, electric fields, and electrical equipment parts by recycling steel scrap. TCMS (CEO Shin Tae-yong), which signed a financial support agreement with the Industrial Bank of Korea, has domestically produced membrane extension clips that were previously imported entirely.


Energy sector award-winning company Enercamp (CEO Choi Jeong-seop) developed the electric vehicle modular battery Jump & Go and the portable electric vehicle charger Enercamp EV, and received the ‘CES 2024’ Innovation Award. UCI Therapeutics (CEO Jeong Su-yeong), which was selected for the Ministry of SMEs and Startups’ Baby Unicorn Promotion Project this year, is developing CAR-NK cell gene therapy that administers cell therapy and anticancer drugs together.


The Korea Fisheries Research & Development Institute (CEO Kim Min-su) is raising shrimp free from the threat of water pollution and parasites in a land-based smart farm. It applied data and artificial intelligence (AI) technology to the farm.


Growing Lab (CEO Park Jeong-jae) operates the Butler platform that resolves information asymmetry in stock trading. Switch One (CEO Seo Jeong-ah) is developing and operating Switch One, a non-face-to-face real-time online currency exchange service. Infinite Block (CEO Jeong Gu-tae) operates a digital asset storage and management platform and is expanding its blockchain technology patent registration. Lee Moon-rak, head of the Gyeongbuk Creative Economy Innovation Center, emphasized, “The Next G-Star Round investment attraction platform is contributing to discovering local startups with innovative technologies and ideas and establishing a foundation for growth.”
