On the 30th, the 'STAXX Project', a regional revitalization program in which public and private sectors including Gyeongsangbuk-do, Yeongju-si, SK Specialty, Impact Square, and social ventures collaborated, held the 'STAXX Panorama', a performance sharing meeting, to share the achievements of the past three years and suggest future growth directions for the local startup ecosystem in the Gyeongsangbuk-do region.

At the 'Stacks Panorama' held at the Seonbi World Han Music Hall in Yeongju-si, Gyeongbuk, the <Stacks Omnibus> consisting of a demo day for 10 participating companies, <Stacks Highlights> a performance report sharing the economic and social value created by the project over the past three years, and <Stacks, Credit> an exhibition containing the stories of people who participated in the project were held.

At Demo Day (Staxx Omnibus), a total of 10 companies that participated in this project, including Decant, Liqusquare, Byroot, Backpackers Planet, Blank, Vinest, Elground, Pinozen, Pikichild Company, and Korea Fisheries Research and Development Institute (KOF), took the stage to present their achievements to date and future business growth potential. This Demo Day was noteworthy in that, unlike general Demo Days, it conducted presentations and evaluations by considering the values and characteristics of ‘companies aiming for local-based growth (scale-deep)’ and ‘companies pursuing rapid large-scale growth (scale-up)’. After review by six judges, Pinozen (CEO Shin Byeol) in the scale-deep category and Korea Fisheries Research and Development Institute (KOF) in the scale-up category were each selected as excellent companies.

At the performance report <STAXX Highlight>, experiences and achievements from the past three years were shared. In order to share the experiences of various stakeholders from the public and private sectors, representatives from STAXX project participating companies, Yeongju City, and SK Specialty went on stage and held a talk concert. At the end of the program, awards were given to express appreciation for the contributions made to the project, with SK Specialty receiving the Gyeongbuk Governor’s Award and Impact Square receiving the Yeongju Mayor’s Award.

“Many people still ask why we continue difficult local projects, and the only answer we can give is that we believe there is potential here and that it is something that can be done,” said Do Hyun-myeong, CEO of Impact Square, who took the stage for a short vision speech. “Just as these 10 companies have shown the beginning of possibility, we will continue to support more entrepreneurs who will create the dynamics of Yeongju.”

'Stack, Credit' conveyed the value of the 'community' that the Stacks Project is creating in Yeongju, Gyeongbuk in the form of an exhibition, and received a favorable response from those who visited the site. This exhibition was planned to express the insight of the Stacks Project that sustainable work and entrepreneurship are possible only when various lifestyles in the region coexist and can support individual lives.

SK Specialty CEO Lee Kyu-won, who worked together on this project, said, “Meaningful changes are sprouting in Yeongju as a result of cooperation between companies and local governments based on mutual trust,” and “We will do our best to make STAXX a representative local revitalization program in Korea that solves regional pain points and seeks a path to coexistence.”

The Stacks Project is a project designed to discover and accelerate potential companies that can serve as role models for regional entrepreneurs, and secure excellent growth cases. It has focused on attracting 10 companies with high growth potential to Yeongju, Gyeongbuk, and establishing them as sustainable business models by linking them with local resources. In addition, it has supported the growth of approximately 340 regional entrepreneurs by operating various lectures and practical programs for prospective and early-stage entrepreneurs in the region 12 times. In addition, it has been trying to expand the agenda of revitalizing Yeongju’s startup ecosystem by utilizing various partnerships between the metropolitan area and the region, such as Seoul City’s ‘Next Local’ and Korea Tourism Organization’s sustainable travel demonstration project ‘Better:里’. A Stacks Project official said, “We ask for your interest and support for future programs that utilize these experiences and know-how.”
